Waiʻalae Beach Park

Fun in the sun on Oahu

Nestled near the prestigious Kahala Hotel & Resort and Wai'alae Country Club, Wai'alae Beach Park graces Oahu's south shore, approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Waikiki. The park is uniquely divided by the flowing waters of Wai'alae Stream, creating two distinct sections connected by a white stone bridge.

Wai'alae's beachfront features sand intermingled with coral rubble from the offshore reef. While swimming conditions are hindered by the shallow reef, the beach showcases a small man-made island at its eastern tip, constructed during the Kahala Hotel & Resort's development in 1963. On the west side of the channel lies the surf site known as Razors, attracting surfers and windsurfers to its waves.

A haven for picnickers and local families, Wai'alae Beach Park boasts a small parking lot that fills up quickly during weekends, attesting to its popularity as a cherished spot for leisure and coastal enjoyment.
